Casca Wines
Casca Wines was founded by Hélder Cinha in 2008 with the goal of creating Portuguese wines that would express the terroir of each demarcated wine region of Portugal. He elected Colares to start his project since it is considered a micro-region and the westernmost point of the mainland of Europe.
Hélder Cunha had several challenges himself to produce truly unique wines. Natural from Cascais, his hometown, presented years his creations inspired the region and preserved his origin.
Today Casca Wines have more than two decades of history and its wines are present in more than 36 markets on several Continents. It has national and international recognition and produces wine in almost every Portuguese wine-demarcated region. Casca Wines also assumes its market leadership on Organic and Vegan wines.
His work over years is a continuous search for the best grape growers, with the finest grapes to ensure that each bottle of wine he produces delivers the essence of the wine region and the vineyards where the grape grows.
Casca Wines in Estoril
Casca Wines have also a tasting room in Estoril (check days and hours on the bottom), where you will be able to enjoy and taste the menu taking into consideration the wines they serve. Of course, they will serve their wines, but it was tough to enjoy flavors and wine pairings.
If you will visit the vineyards you will pass Sintra, taking directions to Colares. We advise at the end of the visit to make the road through Cape Roca and Cascais.
If you don’t have time to stop at the Estoril room, you should consider a previous booking with their team for a guided visit to Colares Vineyards (mandatory pre-booking). It is easy to park and has space for events.
Cascais & Friends Wine Spot opens from Wednesdays to Saturdays from 5 pm to 11 pm. Special seasons such as Christmas and New Year might be closed. Please always confirm.
